Fees and Scholarships

Tuition Fee

There is no tuition fee charged for this master program. However, an administrative fee of around 315 € must be paid every semester to the university. This fee includes payment for a public transport pass for Berlin for 6 months.

Health insurance

Students will have to cover their own health insurance fees and will have to join a public health insurance company. They should calculate approx. 70 euros per month for fees.

Living Expenses and Scholarships

Students have to cover their living expenses themselves. Berlin generally is not a particularly expensive city. Master's students should calculate approx. 850–900 euros per month for housing, food, university's administrative fees incl. public transport, insurances. There are various possibilities for funding and scholarships for foreign students. The Guide for International Students provides comprehensible information about studying at HU in general and financing one's studies in particular (see section 8).

However, there are no guaranteed scholarships available by the university. The office of the program will assist prospective students with information about possible funding, scholarships and jobs. If you are planning to apply for scholarships, please, contact the office of the program (masterrtp.sowi (at) hu-berlin.de).
