Kurzprofil
Ertuğ Tombuş ist stellvertretender Direktor des Center for Comparative Research on Democracy und wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Sozialwissenschaften der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Von 2017-2020 war er akademischer Koordinator des Blickwechsel: Contemporary Turkey Studies Program an der HU-Berlin. Bevor er zur HU-Berlin kam, lehrte er an der Columbia University, der New School for Liberal Arts, dem Eugene Lang College, der Western Connecticut State University und der State University of New York. Er ist seit 2009 geschäftsführender Herausgeber von Constellations: An International Journal of Critical and Democratic Theory. Er war Gastwissenschaftler an der Northwestern University und der Yale University. Er hat einen Ph.D., M.Sc. und B.Sc. in Politikwissenschaft und einen M.Phil. in Soziologie. Seine wichtigsten Lehr- und Forschungsgebiete sind Demokratietheorien, Politik und Recht, Verfassungstheorie, vergleichender Konstitutionalismus, Populismus, Säkularismus, Rechtssoziologie, politische Soziologie, zeitgenössische Gesellschaftstheorie und türkische Politik.
