Diversity and Social Conflict
Department of Diversity and Social Conflict offers seminars and thesis supervision on immigration, citizenship, anti-racism, religion, sexuality and gender-related topics. We are particularly interested in theoretical and empirical work everyday and institutional racism, social and political participation of immigrants and minorities in Europe, intersections of gender, "race" and class. In these themes, we aim to bring historical depth, contextual comparisons and methodological (particularly qualitative or mixed methods) analysis of current controversies in the European context. We are affiliated as researchers with Berlin Institute for Migration and Integration Research (BIM) at our university.
