We are pleased to announce the opportunity for 5 undergraduate or graduate students to participate in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on "Current Issues in World Politics", a collaboration between Bodrum+ Institute, TOBB ETÜ, Middle East Technical University (METU), Rakovski National Defense College (Sofia, Bulgaria), University of Macedonia, Vilnius Business College and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
Program Overview:
When: Online sessions from May 5 to May 16, 2025; in-person sessions in Bodrum from May 25 to May 30, 2025.
Funded by: ERASMUS+
Certificate: Successful participants will receive a certificate worth 6 ECTS credits.
Financial support:
ERASMUS+ funding covers €79 per day (including arrival and departure) for a total of €553. Participants with "fewer opportunities" will receive an additional supplement of €100.
The estimated cost of accommodation (shared double room) and dinner at the hotel is approximately €57 per day, for a total cost of stay of approximately €350. This leaves approximately €200 for travel expenses. The Erasmus+ grant will be paid after the stay in Bodrum.
Course Description:
The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the main issues and current debates in world politics. Focusing on the processes of globalization and global governance on the one hand and the discussion on the collapse of the liberal international order on the other, the course will cover old and new actors, issues of war and peace, and cooperation and conflict in world politics as well as current debates shaping regional security agenda.
The course is at the Master’s level. Moreover, undergraduate students can take the course provided that they have at least a 3.00 GPA as well as the necessary English language level (B1).
The course is mainly for International Relations, Political Science, International Security, and other Social Science programs. Yet, there is not any prerequisite so any student from any program can take the course.
