Profile
Maria Thürk is a PhD candidate as well as Research and Teaching Fellow at the Chair of Comparative Political Behavior at the Department of Social Sciences since October 2016. Previously she worked as research and teaching fellow at the University of Hamburg and as research assistant for the project "Representative Democracy in Europe" at the Department of Political Science at Umeå University.
She studied Political Science at the University of Potsdam (BA Political Science and Public Administration), the University of Bremen (MA Political Science), and Umeå University (Erasmus program).
Her research interests lie in the area of comparative politics and comparative political behavior, in particular in party behavior, minority governments, and coalition governments. Further she is interested in the interaction of institutions, such as electoral systems or second chambers, and the behavior of political actors.
