International Master’s programmes

The department has been offering international Master’s programmes for more than 20 years.

These were developed for internationally-oriented students who are interested in pursuing a career in governmental organisation, diplomacy, political consultancy, NGOs, administration, business consultancy, journalism, teaching or research. The courses offer excellent academic training in the social sciences.

Depending on interests, interested BA graduates can choose from a wide variety of subjects and locations at internationally renowned European and American universities.

More than 1000 students have successfully participated in this programme since its inception.

Students and prospective students are advised by the international master’s programme office.


  • GeT MA - German Turkish Master’s Program in Social Sciences

The GeT MA is a four-semester Master’s programme where participants spend one year studying at the Middle East Technical University Ankara (METU) and another year at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and take an in-depth look at topics in the social sciences from both a German and Turkish perspective.

The Euromasters and the TransAtlantic Master’s are four-semester master’s programmes where participants have the opportunity to study at various universities within the EU and the USA and delve into social sciences issues from a European and transatlantic perspective.

The MA RTP is a two-semester programme that serves as preparation for Ph.D. work in the social sciences at a German university.

MEGA is a German and French master’s programme specifically designed for young executives from administration and management that prepares them for the challenges of European administrative cooperation.International Master’s programmes.
