Franziska Jahn receives the Prize for outstanding degree theses
October 2023
Franziska Jahn receives the 500 euro Prize for outstanding theses from the Women's and Gender Studies Section of the German Sociological Association. The Master's thesis entitled “Berufskrankheiten aus intersektionaler Perspektive” was written under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mona Motakef and Prof. Dr. Gökçe Yurdakul. The prize will be awarded at the section's annual conference in Osnabrück in November 2023.
Dr. Stefanie Aunkofer receives the Prize for the best qualification thesis (2020-2021) of the Qualitative Family Research Network affiliated with the Germany's State Distance-Learning University

Almost at the same time as the award, Beltz Juventa has published Dr. Aunkofer's monograph entitled „Väter in Elternzeit. (Nicht-)Anerkennung von Familien- und Erwerbsarbeit bei Paaren“. The award winner works as a research assistant in the Equal Opportunities Office at Rhein-Waal University in Kleve and in the coordination of the audit for a family-friendly university. She completed her doctorate under Prof. Dr. Christine Wimbauer and Prof. Dr. Mona Motakef at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Her dessertation is based on research she conducted as part of the MERCUR-funded project „Väter in Elternzeit. Aushandlungs- und Entscheidungsprozesse zwischen Paarbeziehung und Betrieb“ (supervised by: Prof. Ilse Lenz, Prof. Dr. Michael Meuser, Prof. Dr. Katja Sabisch, Prof. Dr. Christine Wimbauer).
Christine Körner receives the Detlef-Petzoldt-Prize of the German STI Society

Christine Körner and her co-authors received the Detlef-Petzoldt-Prize of the German STI Society for the article "Sexuelle Gesundheit in der Sexarbeit vor dem Hintergrund des Prostituiertenschutzgesetzes (ProstSchG): Einschätzungen von Berater*innen und Sexarbeiter*innen", published in issue 4/2020 of the Zeitschrift für Sexualforschung.
Prof. Dr. Christine Wimbauer receives the Good Teaching Award 2021

Prof. Dr. Christine Wimbauer received 3rd place in the Good Teaching Award of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Humboldt University Berlin for the project seminar "Prekäre Arbeit, prekäres Leben? COVID-19 und die (vergeschlechtlichte) Prekarisierung des Sozialen". Every year, the prize honors successful and innovative lecturers and teaching concepts. The prize amounts to 250 euros and is intended to benefit teaching.
Ida Lübben receives the Prize for outstanding degree theses

Ida Lübben received the 500 euro Prize for outstanding degree theses of the Women's and Gender Studies Section of the German Sociological Association. The master's thesis entitled "Subjekt, Geschlecht und Sexual Consent. Eine Diskursanalyse von philosophischen Gedankenexperimenten" was written under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Karin Lohr and Dr. Lena Schürmann at the Department of Sociology of Work and Gender Relations.
Dr. Mona Motakef receives the Good Teaching Award 2020

Dr. Mona Motakef received 2nd place in the Good Teaching Award of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Humboldt University Berlin for the in-depth seminar "Prekäre Erwerbsarbeit – prekäres Leben". Every year, the prize honors successful and innovative lecturers and teaching concepts. The in-depth seminar was convincing in terms of criteria of structure, didactics and interaction. The prize money is intended to benefit teaching.
Dr. Mona Motakef receives Maria Weber Grant 2018

Dr. Mona Motakef has been awarded Maria Weber Grant 2018, endowed with 20,000 euros. With this grant, the Hans Böckler Foundation supports outstanding researches in the postdoc phase.
