Research and teaching at the Chair of Political Sociology and Social Policy focus on the interaction between politics and society, with a special focus on the modern welfare state. In particular, we focus on how structural changes such as welfare state reforms, labor market insecurity, and climate change affect various aspects of political life, such as citizens' attitudes and voting behavior, party positioning, and citizen-party attachments.
