Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - Department of Social Sciences

The Student Support Office

Are you overwhelmed by your workload right now? Do you have doubts about your course of study, and how meaningful it is to you? Are you in a slump when it comes to motivation? Are you facing challenges with time management or course content, so that you may have to postpone your exams? Or have you lost the overview of how your studies should be progressing?

Then come to us for support and advice!

Because studying at university can be an exciting challenge, but depending on personal situation, background and requirements it can be very difficult to overcome. With us, you can confidentially discuss your concerns and hardships. In this discussion, we can help you to identify problems, develop strategies and actively support you to implement them!

We offer support around academic writing, completed by a comprehensive range of workshops.

Our support covers, amongst other things, the development of your own research question, literature research and the completion of academic essays and term papers. Students often use the input they receive in discussion with us to overcome writers block.

Alongside our regular office hours, we offer regular workshops during the semester, through which you can develop and improve your approach to exam preparation, building robust argumentation in seminars, writing essays, term papers and graduation theses, time management, and dealing with exam nerves and procrastination. If you have requests or ideas for further workshops, please let us know by email.

Drop by the office, we’re looking forward to meeting you!
