Sociology of Social Policy

Welcome to the homepage of the research group "Sociology of Social Policy".

Our research group focuses on social inequality over the life course from a comparative perspective. We are particularly interested in the link between, one the one hand, intra- and intergenerational processes within the family and, on the other hand, the emergence and development of social inequalities in different welfare states given recent demographic changes. We focus on wealth inequalities and inequalities in the labour market. Our quantitative research is theoretically informed and uses longitudinal data such as the German Socio-Economic Panel Study as well as experimental data.

We teach courses within the areas of social stratification and social policy at Bachelor's and Master's level.
