Curriculum
The curriculum of the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences offers multiple programs and tracks, tailor made to the specific needs of aspiring young researchers. It focuses on the systematic training of doctoral researchers combined with intensive supervision and mentoring.
Hence, the doctoral curriculum of the BGSS comprises high-level courses on theory and methods, a broad choice of electives on topics relevant to the doctoral dissertation, and supporting courses including research design and doctoral workshops. Milestones at the end of each semester ensure a continuous progress and mutual feedback.
Practical training in social science teaching and research as well as soft-skill trainings at the Humboldt Graduate School (HGS) complements the course work at BGSS.
Mentoring
Additionally, the HGS offers a mentoring program to accompany doctoral researchers´ transition to a post-doctoral or professional career.
